Steve Ewing
Steve Ewing of the Urge was an American singer-songwriter known for his frontman role of The Urge, a ska-punk band from St. Louis, Missouri formed in 1997. Steve wrote much of the band’s music and lyrics as lead vocalist, contributing to their mainstream successes. Steve also became involved in music production and collaborated with bands like Plain White T’s and Hollywood Undead. Steve had a powerful voice which gave him recognition throughout his career as a sought after artist in rock and punk subgenres. Steve ceased touring with The Urge after 2004 but he continues to write music inspired by the band’s sound. Fans continue to celebrate Steve Ewing of the Urge band as one of the greatest songwriters and performers in alternative music.
